Hi – I’m Dr Johanna Strong, an early modern historian focusing on Mary I’s legacy.
My doctoral research focused on posthumous representations of Mary I’s life and reign in the dominant English historical narrative from 1558-1660. I continue to research this topic, expanding my examination to the 1680s.
I am currently a teacher of History and Politics at the secondary level and am the Digital Seminar Series coordinator for the Royal Studies Network. I have previously been a module leader at the University of Winchester for their “International Introductory Module: Europe 1500-1789”, have featured in various world-renowned podcasts, and am active in engaging the public in history.
